What Will It Do For You?

You’ll increase your exit valuation exponentially by increasing both your valuation multiple and your profitability to which that multiple is applied.

  1. Revenue Growth Is Multiplied In Exit Valuation

Let’s say your business is likely to sell at a 2x EBIT multiple, and you’re currently achieving EBIT of £250k. If we can grow your EBIT by another £50k (20%), that will add £100k to your exit valuation.

  1. Revenue Growth Increases The Valuation Multiple Itself

Businesses that are larger, tech enabled and experienced in M&A open up new pools of buyers which will increase your valuation multiple.

E.g. Improving your overall operational efficiency might increase your ultimate exit multiple by 0.5x or more.

If growing your EBIT from £250k to £300k moves you into a new buyer pool, your exit multiple might increase from 2x to 2.5x, which would mean that a £50k increase in revenue results in a £250k increase in your exit valuation.

And between now and when you do sell, there’ll also be more cash available for dividends, salaries etc.
